Make:HP
Model: zd7000
Description
Of Problem:
At power-up, all seems normal for a few seconds -- screen black, fan running, hd spinning up -- then suddenly everything shuts off, as if the power had been killed. Then it starts over again. This cycle repeats forever, until I hold down the power button to force it to turn off. Sometimes it makes it all the way to the BIOS post message, but usually it shuts off before it gets to that point.
only twice since this began, has it made it all the way to the Windows boot screen -- when this happens, then lots of video artifacts (junk) begin appearing on the screen, and eventually a "blue screen of death".
This laptop was previously repaired (about 2 years ago) by "iKenFixIt" (no longer in business). They fixed the DC Jack, and replaced a broken USB port. Those repairs appear--at least from the outside--to still be holding strong.
